KARACHI: The first winter showers of the season in the city have led to at least three people being killed on Friday.

The downpour occurred several times in various areas including busy commercial streets such as II Chundrigar Road and Shahrah-e-Faisal, along with places such as Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Gulistan-e-Jauhar, resulting in great difficulty for commuters as the flow of traffic was seriously affected.

In addition, the slippery roads also caused accidents which resulted in the death of at least two people, both in Nazimabad.

Another man was killed in Korangi after the rain caused him to get electrocuted.

The Meteorological Office reported that the greatest amount of rainfall in the city was received at PAF Masroor base, with 41 mm of rain having fallen in the area. The North Nazimabad region received the second most amount of rainfall with 25 mm with Gulistan-e-Jauhar following with 25 mm.
