Former chairman of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Dr Amjad has joined Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).

Prime Minister Imran Khan welcomed Dr Amjad into the party fold. PTI Secretary General Arshad Dad and PM’s Adviser Naeemul Haq were also present on the occasion.

“I have complete faith in PTI’s manifesto and leadership,” Dr Amjad said in his remarks on the occasion, adding that the PTI government was actively working to bring reforms in Pakistan. “In a very short span of time, the PTI government has succeeded in bringing the country on a track that leads to success,” he continued. “I am joining the captain’s caravan to help him lead the country towards success,” he added.

Dr Amjad resigned from the chairmanship of APML, founded by former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf, on August 10 last year.

In July 2018 polls, Dr Amjad had withdrawn from the electoral battle in NA-53 Islamabad-II in favour of Imran Khan.
