HYDERABAD: The District and Sessions Court on Saturday ordered the commissioner, deputy commissioner, director general Hyderabad Development Authority, MD Wasa, Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and Taluka Municipal Officer Qasimabad to ensure supply of clean water to citizens in the city. Earlier a petition was filed in the court by former Qasimabad Nazim Mehboob Abro, complaining that contaminated water is being supplied to citizens in the city particularly in Qasimabad, Kali Mori and Hala Naka. He pointed out that due to supply of poisonous water a number of people, particularly children, were suffering from serious stomach diseases. On court orders water samples were taken from various areas of the city and examined at the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, where the natural resource was found unfit for human consumption.
