Pakistan’s IT genius remembered on her 5th death anniversary

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s proud genius only nine years old Microsoft certified Information Technology (IT) professional Arfa Karim’s 5th death anniversary was observed today (Saturday).

A report aired by private TV channel said, the prodigy Arfa was born in Faisalabad’s Ram Divali. She was conferred the degree of Information Technology (IT) engineering by Microsoft’s founder Bill Gates in 2004.

Karim received several awards for her brilliant work. She was awarded with Pride of Performance, Salam Pakistan Youth and Madar-e-Millat awards.

Arfa Karim was a multi-talented youth. She was not only an IT engineer but also a poetess and had literary inclinations. She also learned how to fly a plane and was skilled in delivering lectures. Arfa passed away on January 14, 2012 after remaining under treatment at hospital in critical conditions for weeks. People nationwide held candle-light vigils remembering the young national hero and mourned the loss.
