ISLAMABAD: The Hamdardan-e-Watan Party (HWP), a lesser-known political party from Gilgit-Baltistan, has filed an application in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for its registration.

HWP Chairman Munawar Hussain told Daily Times that his aim was to serve the people. He claimed that his party would emerge victorious in next GB elections.

He said it is sad that Pakistan is blessed with natural resources, but the people are forced to sleep on footpaths.

“If we utilize all our resources in a befitting manner, then we cannot only return the debt but the country would also be in a position to give loans to other countries. In addition to this the people would come from abroad to seek the jobs,” he added.

He said that construction of Gilgit-Skardu Road is vital with a defence point of view. The estimated cost was Rs 200 billion, but the tender was passed for Rs 45 billion only, he added.

To a question about his party’s manifesto, he claimed that he would bring the nation out of crises. “The circumstances in GB are so bad that educated youth have to bribe government officials to get a job.”

He said that the health and education facilities are almost negligible in GB. “Doctors do not come to their duty and leave the patients on the mercy of unqualified paramedics, who play havoc with their health.”

He said that he would provide at least 200 ambulances to the GB hospitals after coming to power.

He said if teachers would get pay for sitting homes then who will impart education to the youth and how the country would progress.

He said senior vice chairman of the party is Shamsuddin Kamil, General Secretary is Abdul Hafeez Burni and Nisar would be the finance secretary.
