COAS never approached India for talks: ISPR

Author: Staff Report

Pakistan Army on Thursday rejected Indian media reports that Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa had approached his Indian counterpart for bilateral talks between the neighbouring countries.

“Hindustan Times reports that Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa had approached Indian COAS for talks and that both had served together in Congo. Story is factually incorrect,” Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor posted on his Twitter handle. “The COAS has neither approached Indian COAS nor has served with him in Congo,” he went on to say. “Decision for talks is prerogative of both the governments,” he concluded.
