Nawaz demands fair probe into Sahiwal incident

Author: inp

While condemning the Sahiwal incident, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif Thursday demanded a transparent investigation into the shooting which claimed innocent lives so that the culprits could be brought to book. The former prime minister met his family members and prominent leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) at the Kot Lakhpat prison. Talking to his party members, Nawaz said he was very upset on the current economic condition of the country. “We worked diligently on CPEC so that the country can reap its fruit … if the current government decides to halt it, then it will bring disastrous results,” he said. Expressed satisfaction over his health condition, Nawaz said he was in good physical health and in high spirits. He also expressed annoyance over the fact that he is never briefed by jail authorities about the names of the people who are enlisted to meet him in the prison on Thursdays.
