ISLAMABAD: Government officials surveyed companies and found that only two of 200 milk companies are of safe quality.

The figures were revealed on Monday by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Pakistan Standards and Quality Control officials during a meeting with the Standing Committee Senate.

The officials reported that last year they were assigned to check the quality of milk and found only one company in Karachi delivering safe milk to the customers. The officials were asked to submit a report of unsafe milk companies to the committee senate within a month.

According to Provincial food authority (PFA), companies with unsafe milk added chemicals like formalin and sugarcane juice. The report was submitted to Lahore Supreme Court registry on December 27.
