Ex-CM says he renders services for Sindh uplift

KHAIRPUR: A ceremony was held at the Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) here to pay a tribute to former Sindh chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Monday.

Qaim Ali Shah was the chief guest on this occasion while Justice (retired) Syed Ali Aslam Jafferi, Moula Bux Larik, senior citizens and academicians were also present on the occasion. Shah Abdul Latif University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Parveen Shah presided over the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, Qaim Ali Shah said that he had rendered services for the uplift of entire Sindh, particularly Khairpur. He said that he had joined politics under the patronage of the late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, founder of the Pakistan People’s Party and the former prime minister. He said that the Pakistan People’s Party had rendered services for the people of Sindh.
He recalled that recently the Jacobabad Institute of Medical Sciences was established with a cost of Rs100 billions. Prof Dr Parveen Shah in her speech expressed gratitude to the former chief minister. She said that the former chief minister had served the people of Sindh irrespective of their political affiliations. She said that the Shah Abdul Latif University was in fact a brainchild of Syed Qaim Ali Shah.

Karachi’s Judicial Academy Director General Syed Ali Aslam Jafferi said that Qaim Ali Shah had given priority to justice and rule of law during his tenure as the chief minister. He said that the former chief executive of the province was a role model for him.
