Afghan peace vital for regional stability: COAS

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa Sunday said that peace in Afghanistan is vital for regional peace, according to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The army’s media wing said a US delegation, led by Commander US CENTCOM General Joseph L Votel called on the army chief. During the meeting, geo-strategic environment, regional security and Afghanistan peace and reconciliation process were discussed.

The visiting delegation appreciated Pakistan Army’s efforts for regional peace and stability. The COAS said that despite constraints Pakistan has contributed to regional peace and would continue to do so.
