Rehman Malik seeks report on street crimes in ICT

Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Interior Senator A. Rehman Malik on Saturday sought a detailed report from the Ministry of Interior and IG Police Islamabad about the increase in the number of street crimes, thefts of cars and bikes and burglaries in the Capital Territory of Islamabad. He termed it highly alarming that such crimes were taking place in the capital area of the country. Furthermore, he took notice of the news about the incident wherein a young man had died after his head got stuck in an automatic door at the entrance to a five star hotel in Karachi on Jan 17, 2019.

According to details, the head of 28-year-old Sirajuddin got stuck in an automatic door at the entrance to the hotel and the young man received critical injuries on his head and face when he tried to pass through it. As he succumbed to injuries, the sight left a horrifying mark on the minds of people around. According to report, the deceased belonged to Balochistan’s Pishin district and used to supply ice to the hotel.
