Govt won’t complete its term, claims Zardari

Former president Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday claimed that Prime Minister Imran Khan-led federal government will not complete its five-year term in office, a private TV channel reported.

“Listen, everybody in Pakistan! Imran Khan will not complete his term,” the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman said while addressing a public meeting in Badin on the death anniversary of PPP leader Fazil Raho. “You should learn to govern if you have accidentally become a prime minister,” he said. “Learn how to run a country.”

Zardari also said the people of every province refused to accept the election results and warned that the government should not push his party against the wall lest people get out of control. “Do you think the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have accepted the election results? The people of all provinces including Punjab don’t accept your election,” he asserted.

He said the prime minister is not from the general public and that he will not return to them. “PM Imran has been waging a battle against me due to the 18th Amendment,” he claimed, calling it a conspiracy against the public.

Zardari said PPP has always sided with the poor and the downtrodden. “Shaheed Benazir Bhutto was martyred under a conspiracy against the people of the country as they don’t want to give rights to the people,” he said.

Commenting on the economic condition of people in the last part of his address, the PPP supremo said white collar class with modest means are facing immense difficulties in meeting the ends. He said people are cursing the prime minister. “He doesn’t even know where the rising dollar is leading to,” he said.
