ISLAMABAD: Faisal Mosque has a great attraction for the tourists visiting the federal capital Islamabad but owing to the negligence of the authorities concerned its maintenance and condition of cleanliness has become deplorable.

Although the boards have been exhibited in the mosque at various locations stating that purification is half faith but the existing condition of cleanliness in the mosque bears the evident proof of the dual standards of the administration. All the toilets have become tainted due to improper cleanliness and most of them have broken but CDA neither made any arrangement of cleanliness nor attempted to repair these toilets. Used tissue papers are scattered everywhere on the floor of the mosque due to which worshippers and tourists have to face great inconvenience. Similarly, the condition of the roofs of the mosque is also vulnerable due to the falling of white wash material and cement.

The cooler installed in the premises of the mosque for the provision of drinking water to the visitors and the worshippers has become rusty due to improper attention of the concerned staff and its water is stated to be unhygienic and culminated. Even glasses for drinking water are not available. The visitors have to arrange the water themselves to beat thrust.
