The bench issued notice to the federal government to reply over the matter by January 23.
The petitioner in his plea to the court said that the funds being paid by the people are public property, adding, “There is no concept of the VIP protocol in the developed countries.” The petitioner requested the court to ink an order against VIP protocol in Pakistan.
It is recall that before assuming power, PTI had vowed to against the culture of VIP protocol. The incumbent government, as part of its austerity plan, banned VIP protocol to influential people at airports by Federal Investigation Agency.
In addition, Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar last year also directed the police chiefs of four provinces and Islamabad to immediately withdraw security provided to unauthorised persons. However, the issue persists causing disturbance for public.
