National bridge trials at Lahore Gymkhana next month

LAHORE: The 19th BEFAME Zonal Championship is scheduled to be held from April 3 to 11, 2017 in Dubai in which teams from Bahrain, Bangladesh, India, Jordan, Palestine, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Syria, UAE and Pakistan are due to participate.

To select a Pakistan team for open, senior and ladies segments, national trials will be held at Lahore Gymkhana Card Room on February 12 which could extend to two days depending on the number of participants. Ihsan Qadir, the honorary secretary of Pakistan Bridge Federation, said Tuesday that the trials would be open for all teams without any regional restriction and the last date for submitting entry was January 25.

All those sending entries must note that the entry should be accompanied by 25 percent of the entry fee of Rs.5000.

Another point of interest is that any player over 60 years is eligible and can be a part of the open trials as well as the senior trials.
