PPP to release preview of mega rally today

LAHORE: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) workers belonging to Lahore district has planned to hold a special rally in the city today (Wednesday) to pave the way for party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s planned protest campaign against the sitting government for not accepting his four demands.

In the first leg of his anti-government campaign, Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has announced to hold a protest and mass contact rally starting from Bilawal House located in Bahria Town to Faisalabad via motorway on January 19. Bilawal has presented four demands to the Sharif’s government that were still unattended.

The Pakistan People’s Party workers belonging to Lahore district, including Faisal Mir, Abdul Qadir Shaheen, Dr Zarar Yousuf, Dr Khalid Javed Jan and others, will lead the rally that would be started from the Lahore Press Club to Railways Station at 3pm.

Talking to media, Faisal Mir said, “This will be a reception rally to pave the way for a big rally tomorrow.” He said that the Pakistan People’s Party workers would reach Railway Station through Mall Road and Data Darbar.

He said that the PPP would not move an inch from holding protest rallies and mass contact campaign. ‘We will continue to hold protest rallies until the implementation of four demands of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari,” he said.

About the arrangements of the Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s rally from Lahore to Faisalabad, the party leaders said that they had set all the arrangements for the rally and it would be started from Bilawal House at 10am. He said the rally without entering the city would reach Faisalabad before evening where the party chairman would address a huge gathering.

They said that Bilawal would hold meetings with the party workers for reorganisation of the Pakistan People’s Party in Faisalabad.
