Meeting reviews state of healthcare at KTH

PESHAWAR: The architect of Medical Teaching Institution Act Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar Dr Nausherwan Burki had consolidative meeting with the faculty and management of MTI KTH on Tuesday.

MTI KTH BoG Chairman Dr Faisal Sultan, Principal KMC Dr Ijaz Hassan Khan, Dean KCD Dr Ghulam Rasool, Medical Director Dr Rooh-ul-Muqeem, Hospital Director Dr Nekdad Khan, HoD Medicine Dr Muhammad Hamyaoon, In-Charge Eye Unit Dr Ibrar Hussain, In-charge Medical D Dr Hashim Uddin, Nursing Director Rehmat Ullah, and other senior faculty and management were present.

Dr Nausherwan Burki, who is the man behind MTI law, said that the two most important things in any hospital are patient satisfaction and worker (faculty) satisfaction and we have to sit together for making it a better health care institution under MTI Act. The object of Dr Nausherwan Burki visit is to see how MTI KTH can be facilitated and help in achieve the goals of the MTI Act.

MTI KTH Hospital Director Dr Nekdad Khan and Medical Director Prof Dr Rooh-ul-Muqeem gave them a detailed presentation after promulgation of MTI ACT regarding the improvement of patient care, standard of training, training of undergraduates and post graduates after the enactment of this law.

In the presentation it was also told that how are patients facilitation and registered at KTH has become easy as well as the maintenance of record and follow-up in OPD is done by the new installed Hospital Information Management System.

The quality of diagnostic services was improved after the recruitment of three consultants/ Assistant Professors and the delivery of the investigations has speedup with state of the art equipment installed in the hospital.

After analyzing the working of KTH under MTI Dr Burki lauded and appreciated the efforts made by the faculty and management of the hospital. He said that improvement in there and it will increase day by day.

Dr Burki was briefed by Principal KMC Prof Dr Ijaz Hassan Khan and Dean KCD Prof Dr Ghulam Rasool over undergraduates and postgraduates teaching and training of their respective institutions.

MTI KTH BoG Chairman Dr Faisal Sultan was in KTH from last week and observed all the activities. He visited various units and departments of KTH as well as KMC and KCD. Dr Faisal Sultan gave his recommendations and discussed it with the management and faculty of MTI KTH.
