SYDNEY: Australian team announced the squad for the upcoming third ODI against Pakistan in Perth.

Middle-order batsman Peter Handscomb will make his limited overs debut against Pakistan in the third one-day international on Thursday.

Handscomb replaces the injured Mitchell Marsh after a highly successful introduction to Test cricket in which the 25-year-old scored two centuries and two fifties in his first four appearances in the recent series against South Africa and Pakistan.

Australian Coach Darren Lehmann talking to reporters on Wednesday said about Handscomb, “He has done really well, he is been outstanding.”

“Obviously we want four quality batsmen going at the top so he will get his chance there,” he added.

“He played a one-day style innings for us in the Sydney Test, so he´s got all the shots and he´s quite innovative,” Lehmann said.

Instead of Mitchell Starc, the fast bowler Billy Stanlake will play as Starc is being rested.

Lehman further added that Chris Lynn will be out of the rest of the series because of a neck injury.
