Those claiming PML-N asked for an NRO are liars: Nawaz

Author: Daily Times Monitor

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said those claiming that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders have asked for a deal regarding various cases are liars, a private TV channel reported. Speaking with reporters at the Kot Lakhpat prison, where he is jailed on corruption charges, Nawaz responded to the statements by government ministers at multiple occasions that opposition members facing corruption probe were trying to look for a deal to escape punishment. The PML-N supremo also termed the Punjab government incompetent and said the Shehbaz Sharif-led government was much capable in comparison. Metro project in Punjab was completed in 11 months while there has been anything but progress on the KP metro project, he said. “Despite this and his hard work, Shehbaz is being treated badly,” he lamented. Meanwhile, PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz along with her son Junaid Safdar met her father Nawaz Sharif at the jail. Party leaders including Mushahidullah Khan were also present on the occasion.
