PPP to start public awareness campaign for the upcoming census

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Sindh has decided to start a public awareness campaign for upcoming census in three major cities of the province; Karachi, Hyderabad and Ghotki.

This was announced by the PPP Sindh President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro here on Wednesday. All office bearers, members of the provincial and national assemblies as well as elected representatives of local government from Karachi, Hyderabad and Ghotki were asked to attend a series of meeting from January 19 to 21 at Karachi’s Peoples Secretariat.

According to schedule, all respective representatives from Ghotki will attend a meeting on January 19, while PPP Karachi Division will meet on January 20 and a meeting will be held in Hyderabad for PPP city division (Hyderabad) on January 21.

Khuhro said the meetings would be arranged to educate PPP office bearers and elected representatives regarding the census and its importance at a grass root level so that people should understand and cooperate with the staff who will be carrying out this exercise. PPP’s local leadership should facilitate and make sure that no house should be left in the census audit, he stressed.
