BAHAWALPUR: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Muhammad Idress Ahmed has said that the police is striving hard to implement the National Action Plan in true spirit across the Bahawalpur region.
Under the National Action Plan, 1183 cases of violation of Loud Speaker Act have been registered and as many as 1256 have been arrested during the 2016. He said that banning of distribution of hate material was an important act under NAP and in this regards, so far, the police have registered 101 cases and 111 persons have been arrested.
Talking about violation of Arms Act, the RPO said that 4002 cases have been registered and the police arrested violator accused under the Arms Act. Giving details of search operation, he said that over all 3490 operations were conducted in the three districts of Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan and Bahawalnagar and arrested 1294 persons. He said that the police under the National Action Plan has also taken action against wall chalking and 121 cases have been registered while 151 persons were arrested.
