WASHINGTON:Police had to resort to firing gas, as anti-trump protestors threw stones and broke windows in Washington on Friday ahead of Trumps presidential inauguration.

As Trump accompanied by supporters, and former presidents convened on the national mall for the swearing in ceremony, opponents protested on adjacent streets and were confronted by heavy contingents of police on various check posts.
