KARACHI The dollar closed flat in value against the rupee in the interbank market, currency dealers said. It started the day’s trading at Rs 104.40 for buying, with no variation in value as it closed at Rs 104.40 for buying and Rs 104.60 for selling. The Euro gained value versus the rupee as it opened the day’s trading at Rs 111.09 for buying and after gaining 40 paisas closed at Rs 111.49 for buying and Rs 111.69 for selling. The British currency was up against the local currency as it began the day’s trading at Rs 128.18 for buying, up by 80 paisas and closed at Rs 128.98 for buying and Rs 129.18 for selling.
Open market: The rupee gained ground against the dollar, dealers said. Greenback initiated the trading at Rs 108.10 for buying, closed at Rs 107.85 for buying with a loss of 25 paisas and closed at Rs 108.05 for selling. The euro remained up against the local currency as it opened the day’s trading at Rs 114 for buying and closed at Rs 114.15 for buying after 15 paisas variation and closed at Rs 114.40 for selling.
