CJP takes suo motu of rape of minor in Karachi

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Friday took notice of the rape and torture of a 6 year old girl in Karachi, according to a press statement issued from the office of the SC’s spokesperson.

The action, according to statement, was taken on reports that the alleged rapist tried to murder her after raping her and threw her into the drain. It added that the victim’s body was found beside the Korangi causeway with severe torture injuries. She was admitted to Civil Hospital Karachi in serious condition. According to reports, police had arrived at the location following the information by residents of the area. Tooba’s throat was cut from two ends; doctors of Civil Hospital said.

The initial investigation report claims that the girl is student at a private school in Korangi. The officials said that the girl is in deep shock and not in a condition to narrate the incident accurately. Her operation has been completed and she is being kept in ICU. A doctor assigned to treat her told that she will be able to talk after 48 hours.

Taking notice of the issue, the Chief Justice of Pakistan has directed Inspector General of Sindh Police to submit report within 48 hours.
