ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that the Pakistan Army holds the defence of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) at par with its own.
He was talking to Saudi Ambassador Abdullah Marzouk Al- Zahrani on Friday, who called on the COAS at the General Headquarters (GHQ). According to the inter-services public relations (ISPR), issues of bilateral relations, including defence and training cooperation, remained the focus of the discussion.
Sources said that during the meeting it was decided to further enhance the defence and military relations between the two countries, and in this regard high-level visits would continue as well. The Saudi ambassador praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Army as well as the role it had played for peace in the region.
Separately, Republic of Azerbaijan Ambassador Ali Alizada called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mahmood Hayat at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi. Various facets of defence and security relationship between Pakistan and Azerbaijan came under discussion, according to an ISPR spokesman.
