Prof Dr Tariq Ansari appointed Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan vice chancellor

Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar who is also Chancellor of BZU, has given the additional charge of the post of Vice Chancellor to Prof. Dr Tariq Ansari.

According to a notification, the Governor/Chancellor in exercise of powers vested in him under section 14 (6) read with section 11 (8) of Bahauddin Zakariya University(BZU), 1975 Act, has accepted the resignation of Prof Dr Tahir Amin, from the post of VC, BZU, Multan with effect from December 13, 2018.

The Governor/Chancellor has been pleased to assign additional charge of the post of VC, BZU, Multan to Prof. Dr. Tariq Ansari for a period of six months or till the appointment of regular incumbent whichever is earlier, it added.

Dr. Tariq Anasri is the senior most professor of BZU.Prof. Dr. Tariq Mahmood Ansari FCSP, FRSC has very wide research interests in the field of Environmental Analytical Chemistry. Professor Ansari holds a Ph.D in Environmental Analytical Chemistryfrom University of Aberdeen, UK. Prof. Dr. Tariq Ansari was a research fellow for about two years in a project in Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, University of Strathclyde, UK. He also serves on a number of committees of BZU.

Prof. Dr. Imran Sharif, Director School of Economics said, “We are delighted to have Prof. Dr. Tariq Ansari as Vice Chancellor of BZU. He brings a wealth of interdisciplinary knowledge and global teaching and research experience. His work and presence will help the University with the continued focus on experience-based learning.”

Speaking about the appointment, Prof. Dr. Tariq Ansari said, “I am honored to join Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan an institute destined to make a difference through innovative teaching, learning and research. The learning environment of BZU, focus on creativity basedknowledge, and cross-disciplinary research has attracted me the most. I’ll try my level best to bring about the University in a position where BZU can establish itself among leading institutes of higher learning in Pakistan’s academic fraternity within the given a time span. BZUhas highly qualified faculty, and strong industry and foreign collaborations and I look forward to put my more than 3 decades of experience to work for this great institute to achieve its mission.”
