The exhibition was inaugurated by Culture & Information Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan. The minister appreciated and congratulated to Lahore Arts Council (LAC) Executive Director Ather Ali Khan to hold this exhibition. Speaking on the occasion he said it is a great gesture by LAC to pay tribute to the founding father to organise his efforts and his sacrifices which he made for us.
The minister added that it is time to be reminded of the message of the Quaid that unity, faith and discipline is to be followed in every field of life. He further reasoned as Quaid believed, “Democracy is in the blood of the Muslims, who look upon complete equality of mankind and believe in fraternity, equality and liberty.”
Our government has the same vision and we will follow the footsteps of our founding father for the prosperity of our beloved country, he said.
The LAC executive director especially thanked Nazriya-e-Pakistan Trust for allowing LAC to borrow Quaid’s photographs and paintings to hold this exhibition.
He further said we want to celebrate and pay tribute to our Quaid in a different way so we arranged this exhibition and when you look at the displayed artwork it is exclusively remarkable from one another. This exhibition is just a reminder for all of us to reawaken the ethics of brotherhood, patience, tolerance and unity which is the actual massage of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, he added.
The exhibition brought together total 30 artworks in medium of painting, drawing, photographs and relief. Most of the works are from the permanent collection of Alhamra’s art museum and the Nazriya-e-Pakistan.
