KARACHI: “NAB laws were the ‘draconian laws’ which used to harass officials and hindered into development projects in Sindh”, said Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah during a press conference on the “Sindh Post Budget Conference 2017-2018” organised by Jang Group in a local hotel on Tuesday.
He alleged that NAB through its law has been harasing Sindh government officials consequently. He also informed that most of the budget could not be utilised for the development projects.
He alleged that Chairman of NAB himself was involved in corruption and now he has become in-charge of an accountability body.
“To eliminate corruption from Sindh is none of the federal government business”, the government is trying to create a provincial accountability authority which would eliminate corruption from the province.” We are bringing a new anti-corruption law within 30 days”.
He said further that it was told that the Sindh government wanted separation from the central government which is not true at all and has no meaning. Even Governor Zubair is also making such conversation which is none of his business , he should not be talking on such issues. “The governor should use his constitutional powers for the job he has been assigned for”.
We have given ownership to the law enforcement agencies including the police and the rangers to use their power in maintaining law and order situation in the province.” We also give security allowance to Rangers which is worth 2.5 billion”. Sindh government will also spend at least 90 billion for the peace and security.
He also appreciated the services of Private health institutions and said that they have contributed a lot to the health department.
National Institute for Cardiovascular Disease (NICVD) is the only hospital in the country where thousands of patients come for angiography and angioplasty from all corners of Pakistan to get treatment.
We are criticized even for the social welfare and development projects and schemes. “We have announced to give one hundred thousand to every student who has secured 1st position in the examination; we are also being criticized for this scheme.
