ISLAMABAD: The Federal Police has so far not been able to trace the abducted former Peshawar NAB director Ghulam Qadir. Air Commodore (r) Ghulam Qadir is said to have been abducted from Sector E-11. Sources said he was overseeing housing projects during his former job. Later, he took retirement and started working as a consultant in a private housing firm. Sources also said he was under stress as a departmental inquiry was underway against him. Sources added that according to his driver and engineer, the abductors kept them blindfolded at a place near Sector E-11 for a night. The kidnappers obtained signatures from the driver and engineer on papers which were carrying information about arms trafficking, drugs and corruption. Later, they dropped the driver and engineer near radio station and Mandra Toll Plaza respectively. Shalimar Station House Officer Kifayatullah said Qadir was returning from a marriage party when 15 people in three vehicles abducted him. A video footage was not available as no CCTV cameras were installed on Hilal Road. The SHO added that the matter was being investigated. All the aspects of the kidnapping are being reviewed with the help of statements of driver and engineer. However, no major breakthrough has been made so far, he said.
