CCPO lauds Christian policemen for contributing in law and order maintenance

LAHORE: Officers and officials of Lahore police belonging to Christian community are extending great contributions in maintaining law and order and eradication of crime in the provincial metropolis.

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) BA Nasir said this while addressing the participants of a cake cutting ceremony in connection with the celebrations of forthcoming Christmas at Police Lines Qilla Gujjar Singh on Saturday.

He added that Christmas gives the message of love, peace and brotherhood, sharing happiness of this festival among all.

The Christian community along with other minorities is playing a pivotal role in the development of the country. The role of Christians has been outstanding in different sections of society and they have been working shoulder to shoulder with us for the betterment of society. Lahore police will provide foolproof security to the Christian community during their celebrations of Christmas at churches and other public places as well. The Muslim community is equally participating in the celebrations of Christmas as Christians are part and parcel of our country, the CCPO added.

The CCPO along with other senior police officers congratulated the Christian community as well as its members serving in Lahore police. Members of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Haroon Imran Gill and Peter Gill, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Muhammad Waqas Nazir, DIG Investigation Inaam Waheed, Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Operations Captain (r) Mustansir Feroze, CTO Captain (r) Liaqat Ali Malik, SSP Administration Muntazir Mehdi, SP Headquarters Syed Karrar Hussain, Bishop of Lahore Irfan Gill and Bishop Sebastian along with other religious leaders from Christian community as well as Christian police officers and officials also attend this ceremony.

Minority Parliamentarians Haroon Imran Gill and Peter Gill, different bishops and other religious leaders said on the occasion that Christmas is the event of happiness and promotes the culture of mutual harmony, tolerance and compassion. They lauded the efforts of Lahore police for providing foolproof security to the Christian’s community and special security arrangements made by them at different churches and other important places.

Children from different churches and Presbyterian Sunday School of Naulakha Church presented various colourful performances in connection with Christmas celebration. CCPO BA Nasir along with DIG Operations Muhammad Waqas Nazir and other senior police officers and MPAs along with Christian religious leaders cut the cake of Christmas on this occasion. CCPO along with Liaqat Ali Malik also distributed Christmas Eidi (cash) among the Christian traffic wardens and grade four employees of Lahore police.
