KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday took serious notice of the derogatory remarks made by provincial minister Imdad Ali Pitafi against the Pakistan Muslim League (Functional) lawmaker Nusrat Sehar Abbasi, a day earlier during Sindh Assembly session.

Bilawal directed the PPP Sindh President and parliamentary leader in Provincial assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro to issue a show cause notice and also to take strict disciplinary action against PPP Minister, Imdad Ali Pitafi.

Meanwhile, Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari asked the provincial minister Imdad Ali Pitafi to apologise from, Nusrat Sehar Abbasi for using inappropriate words against her.

Patafi’s foul language drew sharp condemnations and calls for apology from fellow lawmakers, civil society and people on social media.

Nusrat Sehar Abbasi while talking to the media said that Patafi should be thrown out of the party.

I will not forgive him because I’m under intense pressure from my family, the only way out is if Patafi would be expelled from the party.

On Friday, during the Sindh Assembly session proposed to Nusrat that she should could come to his chamber if she could not understand the given answer. His remarks irked the PML-F female lawmakers who stated in reply: “Why don’t you ask your mother and sister to come to the chamber. If all business could be performed in the chamber, then the session should also be held in the chamber.”

Bakhtawar in her message on social media asked Pitafi to apologise Nusrat and termed the minister’s remarks as absolutely unacceptable and totally against ethics of the party.

“Yes he must apologize for the absolutely unacceptable behavior which is totally against the ethos of our party that has been led by the strongest of women,” she tweeted in response to similar demand made by PPP MNA Nafisa Shah.

Earlier, Nafisa Shah, the PPP MNA also termed Pitafi’s words as derogatory and asked him to tender an apology to the fellow lawmaker.
