Ameeruddin Medical College & Post Graduate Medical College Principal Professor Muhammad Tayyab expressed these views while addressing a seminar held at Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences arranged by the Nephrology Department of Lahore General Hospital on Thursday.
In the seminar, renowned nephrologists of the provincial metropolis and medical specialists participated and threw light on the affects of salts on any human body and complication arising because of its imbalance.
Nephrologist Professor Dr Tahir Shafi spoke on the topic of sodium’s quantity and changes occur because of its ratio while Professor Dr Ejaz Ahmed Mand and Professor Dr Waqar Ahmed highlighted the quantity of sodium in the human body. Professor Dr Mohammad Anees and Professor Dr Hafiz Ejaz addressed in view of potassium’s decrease and increase and its consequences.
Dr Ahmed Qayyum, Professor Dr Farkhanda Hafeez, Professor Dr Imran Hassan Khan, Professor Dr Nauman Tareef and Professor Dr Tariq Saeed also addressed the provision of fixed quantity of salt for the body and its different aspects.
Dr Aurangzeb Afzal highlighted views about phosphate and its impacts on the human body.
The seminar held three different sessions in which medical experts Professor Dr Ghiasun Nabi Tayyab, Professor Dr Farrah Shafi, Professor Dr Khalid Waheed, Professor Dr Maliha Hameed, Professor Dr Agha Shabir Ali, Professor Dr Muhammad Nazir, Professor Dr Abeera Mansoor and Professor Dr Zahid Rafiq took participation and gave their expert view.
While talking to the media, Professor Dr Muhammad Tayyab said that this event was one of its own kind in which importance was given to such an important factor which plays a vital role in the growth of the human body. He also called upon the media to create awareness among masses to act upon the slogan of prevention which is better than treatment and adopt maximum preventive measures in their daily lives.
