Trump quotes The Dark Knight Rises villain Bane during inauguration speech

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump’s inauguration speech sounded very similar to that of Batman’s villain, Bane.

Twitter users have been roaring about the similarity being uncanny between Trump and Bane’s speech.

Bane is a powerful villain of the Batman series, both in comics and movies. Tom Hardy portrayed the character in the movie The Dark knight rises, released in 2012, where Christian Bale was casted as the superhero Batman.

“Today, we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another or from one party to another, but we are transferring power from Washington, DC and giving it back to you, the people,” Trump stated while addressing the audience.

It was a sudden deja vu moment for all the Batman fans as they felt that they had already heard the exact same words somewhere before. A little focus on their memory made them realise that Bane had said something very similar to Gotham city when he held the city hostage and removed all the powerful officials and police men from power.

Bane had said, “We take Gotham from the corrupt! The rich! The oppressors of generations who have kept you down with myths of opportunity, and we give it back to you, the people!”

The first thing Bane did after taking over the city was removing all the officials from their power and it hadn’t been Trump’s first day and he has already asked for the US ambassadors to resign from their posts.
