The Lahore High Court set aside an order of occupying land measuring 1,072 acres in village Ram Parshad, Depalpur and 294 acres land in village Saidpur, Kasur as Evacuee Trust Property on Wednesday.
The judge also set aside an order of cancelling the mutations of two pieces of land in the name of petitioner Munawar Hussain of Saidpur who claimed to have been striving for the return of his land since the last 65 years.
The petitioner claimed that with the Evacuee Trust Property Board on April 7, 1977, he submitted his plea and after a long battle, the provisional authority on July 27, 2012 ordered to return the land to him but it was not done so far.
He sought directions for return of his land.
