On the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the foreign office called a two-day envoy conference on Wednesday for reviewing and making foreign policy more aggressive keeping in view the rapid geo strategic and economic developments in the region and world.
Talking exclusively to Daily Times, credible sources informed that the two day envoys conference would be inaugurated by PM Imran Khan at the Foreign Ministry.
Pakistan’s envoys from Europe, Middle East and Far East would be participating in the conference.
The main concept of the moot is promoting economic diplomacy, however other issues concerning Pakistan, including Pakistan, Kashmir Afghanistan, Middle East, would also be discussed and reviewed.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi would also address the conference in the second session.
Some former high profile ambassadors and ex-foreign secretaries have also been invited at the conference.
The envoys would also share their view and input from the countries of their posting and progress they have made so far to promote economic diplomacy of Pakistan.
Both Imran Khan and foreign minister would give special directives to the ambassadors and high commissioners to promote trade and economy and direct foreign investment for Pakistan.
Pakistan’s Permanent Envoy to United Nations (UN) Dr Maleeha Lodhi who was earlier called at the Foreign Ministry for consultations, held meeting with Shah Mehmood Qureshi where Pakistan’s role at the UN was discussed.
Ambassador Maleeha Lodhi briefed the foreign minister about Pakistan’s diplomatic achievements so far at Pakistan’s mission to the UN on various issues.
