ANF seizes more than 3,000kg of drugs worth Rs 2.44 billion

Determined to establish a drug free world, the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) seized 3,036 kilogrammes of narcotics valuing Rs 2.44 billion internationally, arrested 25 culprits involved in drug smuggling and impounded 10 vehicles conducting 26 counter-narcotics strikes throughout the country.

The seized drugs comprised of 2,945.83kg hashish, 68.4kg opium, 16.46kg heroin, 2.6kg methamphetamine, 1kg crystal, 4,000 Xanax tablets, 3,000 Diazepam tablets and 1,000 Ecstasy tablets.

In an intelligence based operation, ANF Quetta seized 1,150kg hashish from general area of Kund Malir, Sub Tehsil Liyari, District Lasbela. In another intelligence based operation, ANF Quetta recovered 1,610kg hashish from general area of Killi Dolangi, Tehsil Gulistan and District Qilla Abdullah. In a third operation, ANF Quetta recovered 7kg heroin from mountainous area of Ghar Goshkaal, Tehsil Yak Mach, District Chagai. In a fourth operation, ANF Quetta raided at Killi Zai Simly, Quetta and recovered 70kg hashish. As per initial information, the recovered drugs were intended to be handed over to another narcotics gang. In a fifth operation, ANF Quetta recovered 12kg hashish from personal possession of the accused indentified as Gull Muhammad, resident of Quetta. He was arrested near Gol Mosque, Satellite Town, Quetta.

ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a motorcycle near Takbeer Colony, Kamra Road, Attock and recovered 1.5kg hashish from personal possession of the two accused identified as Abdul Rahman, a resident of Attock and Arsalan Haider, a resident of Sargodha. In another operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested Muhammad Shabir Khan, a resident of Bagh, Azad Kashmir at Islamabad International Airport (IIA) and recovered 4.250kg heroin, which was concealed in his trolley bag. He was boarding for Doha.

In a third operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested Nauman Khan, a resident of Bannu at IIA and recovered 870 gramme hashish from his trolley bag. He was boarding to Bahrain. In a fourth operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested an accused identified as Mehrab Shah, a resident of Sawabi at Shell Petrol Pump, opposite Lari Adda, Attock and recovered 1.3kg hashish from his personal possession. In a fifth operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Toyota Corolla car from the parking area of IIA and recovered 4,000x Xanax tablets, which was concealed in travelling bag. Resultantly, two accused identified as Javed Iqbal and Saeedullah both residents of Lower Dir were arrested during the operation.

In a sixth operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Bedford Truck near Chungi and recovered 14.4kg hashish and 50.4kg opium which was concealed in a spare tyre of the said truck. Resultantly, two accused identified as Zahid Hussain, a resident of Faisalabad and Nadeem Sajid resident of Toba Tek Singh were arrested during the operation. In a seventh operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested an accused identified as Syed Paris Ali, a resident of Islamabad and recovered 3.6kg hashish from his personal possession. He was arrested near D Watson, Karachi Company.

ANF Lahore intercepted two motorcycles near Anwar Chowk, Shadia Morr, Mianwali and recovered 900 grammes hashish from the personal possession of the two accused identified as Asmatullah and Muhammad Arshad, both residents of Khushab. In another operation, ANF Lahore intercepted an unattended Corolla Saloon Premio car near Gojra Toll Plaza, Faisalabad and recovered 18kg opium and 49.2kg hashish from secret cavities of the said car. In another operation, ANF Lahore arrested Gul, a resident of Sawabi at Multan International Airport and recovered 1.1kg methamphetamine, which was concealed in his luggage. He was boarding for Riyadh.

In a fourth operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a Toyota Corolla car near Expo Centre, Johar Town, Lahore and recovered 5kg hashish from the door of the car. Resultantly, two accused identified as Inamullah and Khanzada, both residents of Peshawar were arrested during the operation. In a fifth operation, ANF Lahore arrested Rehmatullah, a resident of Mardan at Multan International Airport and recovered 800 gramme methamphetamine, which was concealed in vegetables. He was boarding for Saudi Arabia.

In a sixth operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a United Kingdom bound parcel from a private cargo office, located at Allama Iqbal International Airport and recovered 1.1kg heroin and 660 gramme hashish, which was concealed in laryngoscope. In a seventh operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a Suzuki Wagon R near Emporium Mall, Lahore and recovered 1.7kg heroin, which was concealed in five cartons. Resultantly, two accused were arrested identified as Muhammad Sikandar, a resident of Lahore and Asif Raza, a resident of Karachi.

ANF Peshawar intercepted an unattended Toyota Corolla car and recovered 8.4kg hashish, which was concealed in the rear seat of the said car.
