10 songs we are looking forward to in Junoon’s next concert

Author: Laiba Tanveer

Being a 90s child, I still remember how Junoon used to rule the hearts of the entire globe with their magical voice, poetry and on stage chemistry and I still find it as a dream that Junoon is coming live in concert after a long period of 13 years.

Yes! You read it right. Pakistan’s most celebrated band in Sufi rock, Ali Azmat, Brian O’ Connell and Salman Ahmed are yet again joining hands together after the mind blowing success of their song “Khudi” which made listeners want to hear them live again. Despite the huge gap of more than a decade, the dynamic trio was brought back to the music scene on the 71st Independence Day of Pakistan.

Like every other person, I love all of Junoon’s songs but still I have compiled a list of 10 songs that I am really looking forward to listening live and cannot wait to sing along with them at the most awaited concert of the year organised and arranged by Sooper.

Ali Azmat, Brian O’ Connell and Salman Ahmed are yet again joining hands for a reunion concert all set to take place on the 25th

“JAZBA-E-JUNOON” – as always tops our list because they actually succeeded to infuse energy and passion yet again with their latest performance.

“LAL MERI PAT” – surely will heat up the stage with the band’s catchy riffs and melodies and Ali Azmat’s contagious energy.

“SAQI NAMA” – the classical rock made itself to #1 at Gulf and we are actually intended to hear it in the biggest musical event of our time.

“BULLEYA” – this one is still in our playlist and would love to enjoy this particular one live!

“SAYOONE” – cannot believe it’s been more than two decades to “Sayoone” because we still play it religiously.

WAHDA HOO LAA SHAREEK – a Sufi taste with of course a pinch of their signature rock music made it to a big success of all times and how can we not wish for it?

“YAR BINA” – I think the title is enough to hum the song.

AB TU JAAG – Oh Junoon! Please do surprise us with this.

“KHUDI” – this one is compulsory because they actually sang this song on their reunion.

“GHOOM” – from my personal favourite album ‘Parvaaz’ which was released in 1999 and I have my fingers crossed for this!

Junoon not only owns a huge fan following but has also received various international awards such as the United Nations Educational Scientific & Cultural Organisation presented them with the Peace In South Asia award and British Broadcasting Corporation presented them an award for their contribution towards Asian culture.

The concert will happen on December 25, 2018.
