ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) on Friday informed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to submit its employees educational degrees for cross verification in attestation wing along with an undertaking.

Following the cross verification of their employees educational degrees, the civic agency already filed an application to HEC. In response, the premier of the educational institution informed to submit the degrees of their employees for cross verification.

The letter further added that HEC will not get charges of cross verification as the degrees were already verified individually.

It is pertinent to mention that CDA Board Secretary Muhammad Ammadudin requested HEC to cross verify the degrees of employees after predication of fake degree holders inside the civic agency. CDA already suspended the services of some employees after identification of fake degree holders.

According to available details, around 600 degrees have been verified by CDA employees individually and now the degrees will move to HEC for cross verifications. A source told that the said officer who sent an application to HEC is under pressure from different circles inside the civic agency to stop the process of verification.

A source in the civic agency informed that some of the high slot officer’s degrees are fake and most of them are recruited on fake degrees inside the department. Sharing a test case he added that a senior deputy director who is heading a premier institution as a deputy director, his bachelor’s degree is missing between Intermediate and Master. He was recruited on a Master’s degree but it’s not clear how managed to do his Master’s without a Bachelor’s degree. He added that if the civic agency has fake degree holders in important offices, how will the department move forward?

CDA Spokesman Safdar Ali Shah remained unavailable for comment.
