LAHORE: Polling for by-election on Punjab Assembly seat PP-168 has started on Thursday morning.
According to details, the seat was left vacant after Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique was elected as a member of the National Assembly.
The current ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have put up Malik Asad Ali Khokhar as their candidate whereas PML-N have fielded Rana Khalid Qadri for the seat. Moreover, Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) has decided to support PML-N in the by-election
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has said that there are 126,912 registered voters in the constituency with 83 polling stations set up for voters.
For the security, Rangers will be present at the stations through out the day while the army is on standby.
