An open letter to president, PM and HR minister

Author:

I wrote the following message to our president, prime minister and human rights minister and hope they will look into the matter and reach out to us.

This is Farooq Rahmatullah Khan, brother of Air Marshal Asghar Khan, we have met on a few occasions.

Hope this message finds you well, I have been unable to reach you via WhatsApp.

On 10th December 2018, roughly around 5pm in the evening, a force of around 35-40 people (or more) consisting of a magistrate, FIA personnel (without ID’s), dozens of masked & armed Rangers, plus several other un-identified men in plain clothes wearing masks (refusing to show identification) raided the residence of my daughter in Clifton, Karachi.

Only women and children were inside the home, they did not allow the family lawyer or any male family member to enter the premises, despite their repeated requests.

It was on the news the second they set foot inside the premises. (Edit: with false news of “recovered” laptops.)

These people ransacked my daughter’s home, misbehaved with elderly ladies in the family and manhandled women, and also physically assaulted domestic staff.

They terrorised several small children, eldest of whom present at the time was my grand-daughter 5yrs of age.

They took away innocuous items without giving any receipt, and there was no way to check what they might have brought into the home in the guise of “recovery”, they were completely unsupervised.

A special magistrate (no ID shown) seated in one room allowed these men free reign.

The women of the house were outnumbered.

Some men in plain clothes with masks further invaded privacy of the ladies, took videos of the family members and their bedrooms and one of my daughters suffered a physical assault when she tried to prevent them.

This raid continued for 4 hours, or more.

Is this what the State of Madina is going to offer to the women & children of our country?

My 5 year old granddaughter was terrified and is in a state of shock, still suffering from the trauma she experienced.

Where are the Human Rights and protection of “chaddar & char dewari”?

Attached is the photograph of only one of the unidentified men, we have further photographic and video evidence.
