Punjab government has failed to appoint Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) chairman and vice chancellor of Information Technology University (ITU) up until now.
Since the removal of founding VC of ITU and chairman of PITB Dr Umar Saif, these seats were vacant and government was unable to appoint any one on these vacant posts.
Sources said that due to vacant posts, the administrative affairs of these organisations suffered a lot and the moral of the officers and staff was low.
Planning & Development Department Chairman Habibur Rehman said that criteria for the appointment of chairman PITB has been finalised and very soon chairman will be appointed on merit.
Sources said that additional charge of chairman PITB was given to Habibur Rehman Gillani who was unable to give time because of his busy schedule.
The charge of ITU was given to senior most professors Dr Akmal Hussain who refused to take charge.
