NAB arrests Khawaja brothers in Paragon Housing Society scam case

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday has aressted Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Khawaja Saad Rafique and Khwaja Salman Rafique in the Paragon Housing Society (PHS) scam case.

According to details, NAB arrested Khwaja brothers when both of them were appeared before the court for another extension but Lahore High Court (LHC) rejected the request.

A two-member bench headed by Justice Tariq Abbasi heard the petition of the PML-N leader and his brother seeking an extension in their interim bail.

During the hearing, advocate NAB said that Khawaja brothers have links with Paragon Housing scam. Saad Rafique’s wife was partner in Paragon Housing city with Qaiser Ameen Butt and Kawaja brothers have accepted that they had been receiving profit from the project. On the other hand, the son-in-law of Saad Rfique was also partner in the project.

NAB had summoned the former railways minister and his brother on October 16 in a case related to the Paragon Housing scam. The two brothers had moved the Islamabad High Court to provide a protective bail which the latter had rejected and advised the petitioners to approach the LHC.
