Imran Khan reviews 100-day performance of 26 ministries

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Monday reviewed the performance of 26 ministries in a special meeting of the federal cabinet and decided to hold similar review meetings quarterly.

The performance of the rest of the ministries would be reviewed in a meeting to be scheduled later, a PM Office statement said.

During the meeting that lasted around nine hours, the prime minister remarked that the foundation of Naya Pakistan had been laid. He directed the ministries to devise a strategy to achieve the targets set during the first 100 days of the incumbent government.

During the meeting, it was decided to further task each ministry with specific plan for implementation spreading over a period of five years. “Discussions on actions already taken in terms of service delivery, austerity measures adopted and future plans, were held in each case with a view how to improve performance under each of these heads further,” the statement said. It was also decided that the review meetings be held every three months to judge performance of the ministries, adopt midway course corrections, where required, and to ensure overall performance of the government that was on track the main aim of which was improving the quality of life of Pakistani citizens.
