Govt can create unrest if verdict goes against it: PAT

Author: Staff Report

LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri has said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government can create unrest in the country if decision in the Panama case goes against it.

In a telephonic address to a gathering of PAT and MWM members on Wednesday, he said the rulers could go to any extent to save their skin. He said that it was shameful of the prime minister to work on a work permit in a foreign country.

“No institution will dare to hold the corrupt accountable if this opportunity is lost,” he said, adding the Sharif family had failed to provide their money trail of foreign assets but the prime minister was still sticking to power. “Had this been a case in a foreign country, the people would have thrown the PM out of power.”

He said that the sorry state of affairs for the last 35 years had made people insensitive and they were least bothered about the upheavals in  the country.
