LAHORE: To maintain the quality and standard of education, the Government College University (GCU) has reportedly decided not to affiliate more colleges.
According sources, 10 private colleges have been affiliated with the GCU. However, after receiving some complaints about the standard and quality of education at these colleges, the GCU administration has decided not to affiliate more colleges. These colleges were offering degrees in under-graduation and masters against fee of Rs 500,000 and 400,000 respectively.
A GCU spokesman confirmed Monday that the decision was taken by GCU Syndicate.
Meanwhile, the inaugural function and oath-taking ceremony of newly elected executive comittee of the Old Ravian Union will be held today (Tuesday) at the GCU Bukhari Auditorium.
Lahore High Court (LHC) judge Justice Farrukh Irfan Khan will be chief guest on the occasion. Old Ravian Union President Qazi Afaq Hussain, Vice Chancellor Hassan Ameer Shah will also participate.
