Houbara Bustard

Author: Daily Times

Sir: Our national asset, Houbara Bustard, known as the Asian Houbara, is prized by hunters in the Middle East. Houbara Bustard is a rare bird breed, the size of a chicken their hunting is officially banned in Pakistan. But very sad to say that it has no holds barred when Arab royals begin their Houbara Bustard hunting trios. In 2014 a Saudi prince had hunted more than 2,000 Houbara Bustard in just 21 days of hunting.

Hunting such precious birds is a big crime in other countries, but in Pakistan, Saudi Arabian Sheikhs are allowed to hunt them. For getting much money Pakistani government and authorities are losing the beauty of the nature with hunting these species.
