LAHORE: Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed on Saturday claimed that the Prime Minister Imran Khan has offered him the post of federal information ministry.

The Railways Minister was heard speaking in a press conference in Lahore. He claimed that he held four meetings with the prime minister on Friday.

Rasheed said the Information Minister “is on a picnic in London and I have asked him to return.”

Responding a question by a journalist that what qould be his response if asked by the Prime Minister to change his portfolio Rasheed replied, “I’d say love you. Thank you very much.”

Reacting to the Sheikh Rasheeed’s statement, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said he would be more than happy to vacate his position for Rasheed and serve as an MNA instead.

“We all use trust powers bestowed by people of Pakistan and PM decides who is best fit in the role,” Chaudhry said in a tweet.

After the news aired on media, Rashid clarified his stance saying that Fawad Chaudhry is like his brother and he can never think of taking his position. He maintained that the picnic statement was said on a lighter note.
