KARACHI: The Sindh government on Friday submitted a review petition against the anti-encroachment drive in the Supreme Court (SC) Karachi Registry.
According to details, Advocate General Salman Talibuddin filed the petition on behalf of the Sindh government.
The Sindh government stated in the petition that human tragedies are occurring because of the anti-encroachment operation and daily-wage earners have been rendered unemployed.

Moreover, the provincial government is ready to work in a better way to remove illegal encroachments and therefore, the court should review its earlier order to continue the drive, the petition added.
The Karachi Development Authority (KDA), the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and other civic bodies along with law enforcers are carrying out anti-encroachment operations throughout the city.

The operation against the illegal encroachment have been done in different areas of the city including Saddar, Light House, Jama Cloth and Aram Bagh etc.
On the other hand, some political parties have also raised concern over these operations.
