LAHORE: The Lahore deputy commissioner has asked educational institutions to acquire weapons’ licences for security purposes and directed the Education Authority chief executive officer to arrange a workshop for security guards’ training.
In this connection, the newly deputed Lahore deputy commissioner (DC), Sameer Ahmed Syed, chaired a meeting to review security arrangements at educational institutions and met the Private Schools Association representatives at Town Hall on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by Private Schools Association President Adeeb Jawdani and representatives, ADC (Headquarter) Sundas Arshad, assistant commissioners, Lahore Education Authority CEO Tariq Rafique and others.
The deputy commissioner directed schools representatives to fulfil shortage of security guards and ensure their presence during school hours by completing the security arrangements.
He also directed police officials to increase surveillance in surrounding areas of educational institutions.
He directed Education Authority CEO Tariq Rafique to issue a circular for security guards training and keep in touch with school liaison officers. He also directed the CEO to ensure presence of assistant education officers and complete the educational goals and target.
Meanwhile, Schools Association also ensured the DC and police of cooperating with them in this connection.
