Mayor reveals shortage of funds

Sukkur: With repeated complaints by the Karachi Mayor about a shortage of funds, the youngest ever Mayor of Sukkur Municipal Corporation has come up before his superior authorities – Chief Minister Sindh – complaining to him on paucity of funds, non-provision of OZT share, it is reliably learnt.

The issue of shortage of funds, non provision of OZT share for meeting salaries, pension, gratuity etc, were highlighted by Mayor of the Sukkur Municipal Corporation, Barrister Arsalan Islam Shaikh to Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, a copy of which is exclusively available with Daily Times

According to Mayor Sukkur, Barrister Arsalan Islam Shaikh, a New Bus Terminal had been established during the Year 1994 with the approval of the government at Shikarpur Road (union committee 21 Abad) Sukkur Municipal Corporation and it started functioning in the Year 1998.

Now, the New Bus Terminal is being run under the administrative control of District Government Sukkur, which is situated within the jurisdiction of Sukkur Municipal Corporation UC-21 Abad. The services of the same will be maintained by the Sukkur Municipal Corporation after taking over the physical possession from the District Government Sukkur.
